Sooo, today is a big day guys. It seems like just a few weeks ago I was telling you guys that I was FINALLY 3 months seizure free. Where has the time gone, guys? These past 3 months have really flown by.
Today I’m telling you guys that I’ve finally made it. 6. FREAKING. MONTHS. SEIZURE. FREE. This day means SO many things, but mostly its just happiness. I’ve been looking forward to this day for, oh I don’t know…YEARS. I know that I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our new diet choices. So in celebration, I’m sharing with you, the thank you note that I have written to the creator of Whole 30, Melissa Hartwig:
Happy New Year, guys! 💥💥 Can you believe its 2018? I literally remember when it was turning from 1999 to 2000 and we all thought that the world was going to end because the computers would malfunction. And look at us now…just thriving. 💪🏻
Anyway, since it IS 2018, I wanted to share some of my goals for this year with y’all. I didn’t make a fancy vision board as some people do. (Confession: I actually just found out recently that vision boards are a REAL thing. 😳 I thought that vision boards were a figurative thing? Like oh, ‘I’m going to put all of my goals on this figurative goal!’ But, come to find out, there is typically an actual board involved. Or some fancy people do make them on the computer.) Anyway, I actually do have a lot of goals that I am working on this year, so I’ll share some of them with you guys in case you are looking for some motivation in your new year:Read More »
My motivation is dwindling. I’m not sure why, but for some reason, whenever I make it to about the 4 month mark of being seizure-free, which just happened at the end of November, my motivation DWINDLES fast, and i put on my LAZY PANTS. I’ll give you some examples of the laziness setting in: not filling my medicine organizers, forgetting to take my medicine all together, staying up too late, and now, with my new, healthier way of eating, I’M STRUGGLING to stay on track!! You can ask my husband, my mom, anyone in my family…the four-month struggle is a legit thing. And as my laziness gets deeper and stronger, we all just kind of silently wait for the other shoe to drop (AKA, for me to have a seizure). Read More »
3. 3 whole months. It may seem so short, but 3 months is a large enough victory that it has made this Monday so wonderful. I was so excited that I had a hard time falling asleep last night. I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you all in my blog today.Read More »
October always brings about a lot of different emotions for me. My very first seizure, 14 years ago, was on Halloween night in 2003. So, as we draw closer to Halloween each year, I think about it a lot. My memory has kind of diminished over those 14 years, a wonderful side effect of seizures and seizure medication, but I do remember that night fairly well. Read More »
Halloween is a pretty special holiday because it has so many fun traditions – trick or treating, dressing up, carving pumpkins, costume parties, and even more. When Kevin and I were dating, my favorite Halloween tradition was carving pumpkins together. I would, of course, always try to carve mine better than his, because isn’t that just what you do when two naturally competitive people are in love??
But this year I won’t be carving my cute little pumpkin to compete with Kev’s; this Halloween I will be painting my pumpkin purpleto raise awareness about epilepsy for the nearly 3 million peopleRead More »
